The Verily Schoolhouse Pre-Reading Log is a simple and thoughtful companion for the mother-teacher who desires to become acquainted with her children’s books before placing them in their hands.

Space is provided to consider the captain idea—the central thought or idea that gives life to the passage—as well as any content considerations you may wish to remember before sharing the selection with your children.

A dedicated narration section allows you to put the reading into your own words, helping you attend more carefully to what you have read and retain the thread of the story, history, or ideas.
